Serena And Venus Williams Host Ikoyi Tennis Court Clinic For the Teens
Lagos and Ikoyi especially is abuzz with news that the William sisters will play not just an exhibition game but also will now host a tennis clinic while here on tour promoting their ‘Breaking the Mould’ (BTM) campaign.
Since they selected the Ikoyi Sports club as the venue for the event on Wednesday October 31st, nothing is being spared to ensure that the event unfolds in full spectacle but also totally hitch free.
While lawns are being groomed and the smell of fresh paint hangs in the air the Nigerian Security Forces on the ground have assured visitors of more than ample parking and very tight security - but still ask that people arrive early for quick entry.
The clinic will bring together up to 250 school children of both genders between ages 8 to 16. The sisters will be supported by a host of local tennis coaches to help teach the lucky some basic tennis skills.
Mr Tunji Adeyinka, the MD of Connect Marketing Services, who are hosting the dynamic duo in West Africa, told supersport.com that approximately thirty spaces have been reserved for students who will be chosen at random.
At the end of the clinic each participant will be given a certificate that will be signed by the sisters.
The Williams sisters' clinics are famous worldwide, especially in the US where they are known to host them on a regular basis targeting young girls and people of colour Tweet
